Fence is Done

Jeep's picture

Our fence is finally done and stained we used Sico 211 natural semi transparent stain. It looks like wet cedar now and is just what we wanted. You put this stain on wet on wet. We used a garden sprayer one that you pump up to apply it and it worked great so fast and much easier to control the spray than an electric sprayer. One sprays and another follows behind and quickly brushes over the wet stain, then within 10 minutes you go back over it with another coat and it is done.Had the whole thing done in about 4 hours.

(not the Duracell variety!) should weather with time, shouldn't they, and not look as shiny ??

Nice fence - I even didn't notice the shiny tops - good for you - give yourselves a pat on the back !!

the copper tops!!! May have to copy this idea, however as we are a few provinces away from each other, it may not be too noticeable (hehe). I have a specially ordered copper house number that I was only able to get past DH because we're a single digit!

I really like your choice in 'lattice'; I can't stand that criss cross one
( which moi is stuck with) that everyone has.......

Our fence on the sides is 6 feet and with the added lattice it is 8 feet. That is why we added it separate as it may have to come down if anyone complains. I checked with the city and they said they do not monitor those types of bylaws but if a complaint comes in they have to look into it. We checked with the neighbours and they all wanted the privacy so they said go ahead. Our lot drops down about 3 feet at the back for from the front it doesn't look high. We had the lattice made for us because we didn't want the usual that you see everywhere. Does it show that the tops on the posts are copper they shine like a new penny in the sun. We bought them at HOme Depot.

style that we're considering--but I'm a little worried about whether it will afford enough privacy, as we're on a corner lot. Open to opinions.

That's a beautiful fence! I'm fence shopping, trying to figure out what we want. (Yes BJ you should drive by, because the whole neighbourhood is popping up ---AND I've put up the Roman blinds in the LR)

How tall is your fence Jeep? I really like how your lattice is squarted rather than on the diagonal which seems to be the trend around here.

i really like the extra privacy bit at the top. did you stain already? i thought that it was recommended to wait one year for staining? anyway it looks great and you should be proud to show that off!!

I guess that this means you are A OK now Jainey! Would love to see your fence. So much has happened around there in the last few months. Maybe I will have to do a 'drive-by!" :D
