F***in Brick!!!!!!

So, despite warnings from friends who'd had problems with the Brick, we bought our mattress through them. (It was a great price!!) After waiting almost a full week for delivery, the bed showed up yesterday with a big hole in it!!!!!! The delivery guys actually pointed the hole out to us....thankfully, cause it was on the bottom of the mattress and if they had fully assembled it, we'd have never known it was there! We sent back the mattress, kept the boxspring and frame and the chick that sold us the damn bed was supposed to call us before she went home last night to try and come up with a solution. Guess what...she never called us!!!!

Anyway, just waiting for the Brick to open today so we can call...or go there...or something! I AM ANGRY!!!!!! We move in today, and DF and I DO NOT have a bed to sleep on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is interesting to hear you experiences. I bought my washer/dryer, video camera, digital camera, fridge, beer fridge, spare beds, and our bedroom set at The Brick. I have never once had a problem with them or thier products. Yet, I refuse to shop at Sears, because of the horrible customer service I had from them at Christmas. I guess every store is different.

I am glad to hear such positive stories about Sleep Country. DH doesn't know it yet, but we are in the market for a new mattress. ;)

Wooohooooo :bliss: good going Mel........Now the BRICK can stick that in thier BIG RIP OFF HAT!!!!! ANOTHER LOST CUSTOMER FOR THE BRICK...looks good on them. Im so pleased to hear you got out Mel, you wont regret your decision. I have since dealt with Sears and oh my gosh they were a complete dream in comparison to the BRICK

Hellooooo all!!! Well, short story....it still wasn't on the truck for delivery as of 11 am today, I told them to forget it..and got a refund. Then, we headed to Sleep Country...where I immediatey told the sales lady about my horrible Brick experience..and she gave me an awesome deal on a bed that was almost $1000 more expensive for the same price as the one at the brick, AND beat it by 5%!!!!! Then, proceeded to throw in the bed frame at no extra cost because we are military!!!! It doesn't get delivered till Wednesday...but I don't care. It's well worth the 2 day wait. SLEEP COUNTRY was awesome!!!!

That's why, for the most part, I stick with Sears. It's not like they haven't done dumb things, too, but you can always get them to make it right. I just got a Queen size mattress and box spring for my daughter from Sears for $799 for the set, with free delivery, free Guardsman warranty, and a choice of free gifts (she took the mini-boom box). Oh, and they also gave me an additional $20 off for scratch and save. It wasn't the best mattress in the store, but it was a plush pillow top and it's very comfy. And it came in perfect shape.

7 day return policy...you've got to be kidding me!?!?! That says everything!

Janet you sound like me with Lazy Boy. My blood boils everytime I read or hear the company name :hairpull:

Had great luck with Sleep Country. Good mattress that is still going strong.

I'm with janet....get your money back now....they only have a 7 day return policy..trust me I too have had combat with THE BRICK..stay away.........sleep country at least lets you try the bed for 30 or 60 days....that's where I would be heading...

jeep, just when i had you all believing that i was such a calm person... :D i will fight and i dont give up easy when i feel someone has ripped me off or done my kids wrong.....DH sits there and just shakes his head when i get on a rip and my kids are like "oh gosh someone has ticked mom off" actually i am pretty easy going and on the most part i fight back calmly but make sure i get my point across... :)

PLEASE take it from me.....DEMAND your money back and get out of there NOW......Those suckers delivered two sofas back to back with holes, on top of other garbage sofas............customer service is horrid, they never have things in stock, they deliver and you must unwrap and get rid of the packaging garbage unless you pay them, then they will do it for you..............they gave me a bench for all the troubles and when i decided to move on because they had no more garbage to offer us, suddenly they were taking the price of the bench off what they owed us back.............i fought the rudest manager i have ever spoken too....he told me to take it above his head, perhaps they would help me understand.......so i did just that, sent emails to every head office personall i could find, not too much response...so i reported them to BBB and they finally put a strike against them as a unsolved problem....so i sent another letter off letting them know they now have a bad mark against them and my lawyer will be in touch....their dam butts werent long getting into action....my check was in the mail for the full amount that they tried to rip me off..............so Mel, run as fast as you can........they have already abused you as a customer.

Mel, that's too bad, but hopefully you can get something for the aggrevation. We've had a similar problem with them eons of years ago, probably when they first opened their stores here in Canada. We ordered a sofa bed and when it was delivered we noticed that the material was ripped where it was visible and we didn't want it that way, so we didn't accept it. We went over to their store and talked to the manager and after a lot of words back and forth we were given just a measly 30 dollars for the aggravation and then we went somewhere else to buy another sofa bed.

I think sometimes the delivery guys are very careless about the delivery and they cause a lot of the damages themselves. They had seen the damage themselves before even bringing it in the house, so I think it could have been their fault. But anyway, keep your cool and demand your money back and some compensation for the aggravation and go somewhere else to buy.

Sleep Country Canada has been good even though we had a smelly mattress but won't buy again another mattress in the summer time especially if there is a heat wave......see thread somewhere else on this forum about this.

Go to Sleep Country they were excellent with us and we had a new bed in 24 hours. Ours was nearly a year old when we noticed it was sagging and they sent someone up to the house to look at it and called us later the same day and said come pick out a new mattress. then they delivered the new one and took the old one away.

I'm sorry but you said it yourself...you were warned about that place. If I were you I'd have them take it all back, give myself a shake and go to a reputable store. there is really nothing here to inspire any faith that this is going to end well. You need a bed and a store you can depend on now and much later because a bed is important.

Oh no! :hairpull: You really should have known better though. Lots of people complain about them on various websites and your personal friends even warned you against them. I'm not telling you anything new I'm sure. Did you really think you would have a different experience with them :D Cheer up, I sure hope you can turn this around so you do get an upgrade and they should provide you with some kind of mattress to sleep on tonight at least. :cool: What kind of fools are they that they send out damaged goods? It's hard to believe with all the stories you hear that they are still in business.

I must be honest and say I bought some of my living room furniture from them and there wasn't a hitch, the set has worn well too. Even though I knew all the bad press I went ahead just like you did. I got sucked in by the low prices too but expected the very worse but it never happened. I was very lucky, that's all I can say. But I would never recommend them to any of my friends just in case. Yes, do as I say but not as I do :p

I would try not to loose my cool and negotiate. You should get something out of the deal for your inconvenience. A friend got to upgrade the bed for no extra cost, because of a similar problem. In the end they got a fantastic bed for a really really good price.

Why would they even send the mattress out they can't tell me that they didn't know they were just hoping you wouldn't see it.
