I need help in my living room/dining room! I love our furniture, however it just looks blah in the space - very uninviting. Not sure if it's just furniture placement/lack of colour, rug, etc. or if we should consider adding built-in cabinetry to make the room less stark. Could someone recommend a decorator/designer in the Vancouver area that they have had a positive experience with? Thank you.

Hi! Someone posted a similar question around May 16th (Choosing a Designer; you can read my reply) but I've since had another idea... There's a guy named Dean Elissat who runs a small decor biz here in Vancouver called Better Spaces (www.yourbetterspace.com) which specializes in working with what you have, rather than asking you to buy all new furniture etc. His prices are very reasonable and his ideas are fantastic. I recently bought a gift certificate for him to "do" my sister's main floor (choosing colours and help arranging furniture) for her 40th birthday -- she loved it and so did I!
