Hi,
I'm new to this and have a few questions regarding finishing pine furniture. Is it possible to completely cover the knots when painting unfinished pine? I don't like that look, but the price is right! What other things can I do to a very simple pine buffet to really give it some character? I'm thinking about using molding and an interesting paint finish. Any suggestions are welcome.

hi maxcat04,
if you are painting the pine piece, i recall seeing on cityline that there is a primer (by BM) used specifically to cover dark stains and such so i am sure it would work for pine knots. if you go to a BM store they could certainly tell you the name of the primer to use.
as for paint finish, how about distressing it? not sure what style you are going for but you can give it that antique/rustic/country look by painting it black or red then sand off the paint on areas that would get regular wear (like the edges, corners, around knobs, etc). just an idea....
