Fireplace makeover

DeborahEllen's picture

Our combined living/dining room has a vaulted ceiling, hunter green painted walls, oak flooring, and a brick fireplace painted white. The furniture is a mix of antique and mid-century modern; seating is off-white/beige. I like the look of the room, but the fireplace looks very dated.  I would like to cover the brick with either ceramic tile, or some type of stone. I am not sure what colour or type of product would work best. the fireplace is 40 inches tall. I like simple lines and a contemporary look. What do you suggest? Thanks for your help.
