Hi I am building a new home and love the look of dark hardwood floors. However, not interested in the dusting required. Therefore I am looking for an alternative to finding a hardwood floor that will provide the richness of the dark hardwood, but lower maintenance. Does anyone know of or have a medium brown floor that requires less maintenance. I am building a white/cream coloured kitchen with an open concept. Same flooring throughout, accept the entrance from garage to home which will be tiled.
Thanks any advice appreciated.

I dont have much idea about how to get the stain on floor but am sure that you can find solution with your problem. Just ask a local store in your place and I know they can give you a better answer of your concern.
Hello new home builder,
I have medium oak floors and I absolutely love them. They don't show dust, but are darker than lighter stains out there.
Or have you considered a medium coloured bamboo?
Good luck!

Anrol...so right on this.I have a friend with dark floors, and she regrets it now.I too have the natural maple, good idea to check on this website.
Cannot help you there as I have natural maple hardwood. It is very forgiving when it comes to dust! It is Mirage hardwood flooring and they have all different wood and stains. You might want to check out their website. You are right about the dark hardwood though. My niece had it in her last home and not only did it show the dust, you could see any little smudge mark on that floor!
