I agree you should put some wall arts. I mean, the room is empty and that makes it dull. You can have a painting of your favorite artist hanging on there. Or you can have a customize portraits and canvases too. A lot of online creative stores that offers this services in which you can choose your owm image from your dearest and favorite photos for a good subject.
It's hard to achieve 'Wow" when you already have so much going on. Heavy drapes, heavy chairs and table and dominate the room and provide the wow factor already. Anything else could end up competing with what you have.
Adding a rug would be nice in a lighter colour and you could go just a tad darker on the walls, but I would think twice about that because you don't want to make the room appear darker - or do you? The drapes are nice, but to be honest I would love to white ones there. JMHO.
As for pictures - you don't have a lot of wall space so one or two medium size pix - say 30 x 24 size would blend in.
