I would need some help with my tree. I noticed it wasn't growing as well as the past years so I started to trim it, while doing so, I found a wire wrapped around the trunk and now the bark is growing over that wire. The previous owners had put a stick to hold the tree straight, and as far as I can see, the wire was there for that reason.
I don't know that name of the tree, but they are common, ornamental umbrella like. Small yellow flowers in the early summer.
I don't want to lose my tree!..... Thank you!

I'll ask my husband to do that tonight. Thank you so much. I'll be you posted on how we made out.
sounds like a weeping carragana, Suzie. Norm's suggestions sounds as good as any. Often trees will just grow around things like that with no problem. Good luck with it.
Hi Suzie...I think your tree will be fine if you can snip the wire with some cutters. Don't try to remove it completely. If you have to make a hole through the bark to get at it, apply a little pruning paste to the wound. I have a large pine with a broom handle in it. Apparently it was severed about 3 ft from the ground and staked back in position. The trunk split and now there are two growing from the same trunk. Good Luck!
