We've been shopping around (again! LOL) for a new fridge. We really liked the bottom freezer stainless "Samsung" that we saw yesterday. Has anyone had any good/bad experiences with Samsung kitchen appliances?? I've never had a bottom freezer. Any good/bad comments about these?? I understand that they are more efficient electricity-wise. What about Kenmore "Elite"....We haven't had good luck with Sears appliances but the Elite series scores pretty well on Consumer Reports.

We have a stainless steel Whirlpool Gold bottom freezer fridge. Have had it for 2-1/2 years and love it!
Arizona.....Thanks. That is good info to know. I wondered because the last time we started looking/pricing appliances I didn't remember seeing Samsung in the kitchen area.
We had the Amana for several years. It was very good, and we just replaced it recently when we renovated the kitchen. The new one is an LG, also with the freezer at the bottom. The difference is that the freezer is a drawer instead of the swingout door. I like the door better.
I was under the impression that Samsung had just started selling kitchen appliances in Canada, I don't remember seeing them in the stores when I went looking a few months back. I know they have had laundry appliances out for a while.
Amana - I checked out the link. I also checked Consumer Reports.... Amana had decent scores across the board except for repairs. They had a high repair rate. Have you had many problems??
KitchenAid - I've had a KitchenAid before & it was good......just a little pricey for what we're looking for.
**I'd still like to hear comments if anyone has a Samsung refrigerator.
Hi Dianne,
We have a Fisher Paykel that I absolutely LOVE.
The freezer door is the kind that swings open, but we have three drawers inside that easily pull out to grab things. Unlike Jeep's SIL's freezer drawers, nothing falls out of our drawers. Here is a photo of the fridge (and our reno mess) taken about a year ago. What a mess! Sorry, no recent photos:

And a picture of it from the website:

I noticed the fridge looks short... that's because our cabinets go all the way up to the 8.5 ceilings.
I have a kitchenaid bottom freezer with the frech doors and I really like it. I like the freezer lots of space and mine is like a drawer that pulls out and nothing falls out of it. MY SIL has like a door that swings open and shelves that slide out and things are always falling out the sides. I also like the french door you only have to open one side and you don't need as much space to swing a huge door, Mine is the biggest that Kitchen aid makes and it is huge and loads a ton of fresh and frozen meat.
We love our Amana fridge,it's a 30" wide, you can also get them in 36" wide. The color that we have is white, you can also get them in Stainless Steel. We got ours 9 years ago, and it's still going strong the only difference on the door where the freezer is, ours is a swing out door, they now build them as a pull out drawer . I'll put in a picture of our fridge and also a link on the Amana which has the different styles.
