I agree with painting your garage door in accordance with the main color found on your house (grey/white?) and using a different color for your front door for visual appeal. I however would consider sun exposure when choosing the color of your front door. Dark colors create a lot of heat if exposed to the sun so you might want to consider a lighter color such as 113-4 Yorkshire Pudding by Pittsburgh Paints.
Hope this helps,

If your bricks are very grey, you may want to choose eggplant as your front door colour. I saw this done on CityLine and it looked great! The garage door colour was similar to that of the bricks.
I would try to mute out the garage door by choosing a colour similar to the brick a taupy grey and I would use a loud colour for my front door. You want to have people see your front door and feel welcomed. Black would be a very dramatic colour for a front door with a brass kickplate and accessories. If you don't want to go that route there is always a dark sage green that can add drama to your front door. As always Red is a great way of adding drama and a statement to any home.
