Can anyone suggest tree species for our very small front yard (pie lot) in Edmonton? We face south and are looking for something that is easy upkeep and does not have an ubtrousive root system. Thanks!

A serviceberry is the perfect tree for a small front yard. It's a native tree, small in stature, has white flowers in spring, berries later on, that you can eat, and orange colour in the fall. Truly a showstopper and so pretty in a really small front yard.
