Anyone else trying to get healthier in 2009?? I don't say "diet" anymore because the "D" :D word always makes me hungry!! I did start out today with a healthy breakfast & I just went on the treadmill for 15 minutes. Anyone have any good low fat protein suggestions for breakfast?? PS. I may even watch Oprah's show today! I understand she's going to get back on track as well!!

I have been on WW this last year and eating healthy has had a huge affect on my life my weight is down and I am weighing in on Wed and I haven't gained any over the holidays. I now only buy good healthy food no junk food here. For a treat I make popcorn without butter and we snack on that at night on the odd occasion. I have been walking more and working out on the BowFlex and feel so much better and look so much better. This for me is not about deiting it is about Life changes and the main thing for me was to learn how much food I need to be satisfied and I found out it was about half of what I was eating.

Love it!
Do I have to start smoking if I want to follow your regime, Arizona? Or is having done with eating all together good enough? :p

In all seriousness... I started an eating plan on January 1st (I haven't once called it a resolution!) that involves more veggies (especially green veggies), reduced carbs, regular protein and moderate, good-for-you fats (i.e., cooking in olive oil, eating avacados and tuna [not necessarily together, although it sounds good, hey?!], occasional cheese, etc. No non-fat or low-fat foods for me 'cause they're generally loaded with sugar).

Day 5 and I'm doing well & feeling great! And better still, I'm already down 5 pounds!

Good luck to everyone adopting a Get Healthy mentality! :confetti:

I generally try to eat a healthy diet, but I fall off the wagon far too often. Christmas and New Year was a total disaster. So I'm back on plan effective today.

I had oatmeal this morning for b/fast, but one b/fast I do like is an egg white omelet. I roast grape tomatoes and fry up some finely chopped onion and mushrooms. I put some seasonings into the egg whites (I use La Bomba?). After they are a little more set, I put on the veggies and some crumbled feta cheese. It's really quite tasty. I'll do up enough tomatoes, onions and mushrooms for a few days and just keep them in the fridge. Makes it much easier. I also measure out enough feta for a few days, to keep myself "honest".

Good luck!

Our house resolution was to eat healthier as well. But we have had the flu since the 1st so it has been pretty easy to stick to it considering everyone is eating toast and water.
