anyone interested in a fantastic magazine featuring all past recipes...I just bought the Canadian Living Pasta by the Season...Cookbook special- Magazine/spring 2004 $4.95.

All the recipes are easy & look superb!!! Thought I'd share:)

tomorrow night for supper! Just bought all my ingredients Dy'n. DH may actually grow to like my forum addiction if he gets a few home cooked meals out of it!

here is a family fav...
I figured if you wanted the one in the mag...it would be easy enough to find:)
1 tbsp oil
2 cups mushrooms
1 chopped red pepper
3 tbsp flour
1 tsp, salt & paprika
1/4 tsp pepper
2 cups milk
2 cups chopped cooked poultry
1 cup peas
2 tbsp dry wine or marsala
350 gr linguine or any other long noodle
grated cheese- parmesan
2 tblsp toasted almond slices

cook mushrooms & pepper in oil
stir in flour, salt, paprika,pepper.
whisk in milk reduce heat , stir constantly until thick...stir in peas , chicken,& sherry...toss with cooked noodles & sprinkle with almonds & parmesan...Enjoy!!

requests a recipe or a dish, italians run to fulfill the craving!!! So here it is Luv2....& Elise of course;)

Beef Stroganoff
1lb. boneless sirloin steak
1tbsp veg.oil
2tbsp.butter
1 1/2 cups sliced mushrooms
1 onion chopped
2 tbsp. all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups beef stock
1/2 tsp. worcestershire sauce
1 pkg (375 gr) medium egg noodles
1/2 cup light sour cream

Cut steak into 1/4" strips
in skillet heat oil & 1 tbs. butter, cook meat until browned, stirring frequently- remove from pan.

Melt remaining butter, add mushrooms & onion cook til softened,add flour & cook 1 min, stirring constantly...
gradually stir in stock & worcestershire sauce. Cook till mixture begins to simmerstirring constantly. Reduce heat to low & cook for 10 mins.

Meanwhile in another pot bring salted water to boil, cook pasta to al dente...& drain
Return beef to sauce in pan& cook a couple of minutes till meat is warmed through. Remove from heat stir in sour cream & pour over noodles...serve immediatley.:)

serves 4
ready in 20 mins.

Luv2- italians are fanatical about pregnancy & cravings...you must have this now that you''ve wanted it. I would make it for you in a heartbeat if i was there...but someone will have to do it for you. Tell them I said so:D

I'd love a recipe for beef stroganoff. Mom used to make it when we were kids, but she lost the recipe. (See Elise, your Mom is supposed to make it for you, you don't eat hers when she is sick in the hospital!) And my DD is a big "noodle" fan..Just you wait Dy'n - try going low carb with a toddler in the house!

....Beef Stroganoff? believe it or not the best beef stroganoff I ever had was at Hotel Dieu Hospital 15 yrs ago when my mom had her appendix out!!! Go figure.

yes it does... it says chicken but turkey can be substituted...once a bird always a bird:D sorry I just saw this post. Looks lovely too! Would you like it? Or were planning on getting the magazine?
