Green Style

We are thinking about facing our fireplace in slate ledgestone, wth slate tile on the hearth. It is not a built out fireplace, is flat against the wall. Do you think we need strips down the sides of the fireplace, or do you think it is okay to not have trim (it is an angled wall so you would see the sides of the ledgestone - I don't know if that is a bad thing?)

Also, we are thinking a glass backsplash in our kitchen (open to the living room/fireplace area). I am thinking green for an eco look - like natural stone fireplace with some green tones, then glass mosaic on the splash. Do you think this is neutral enough for rcondo resale?

Does anyone have any inspiration pictures for that "green/earthy/eco" look (we are not total posuers, are using eco materials where possible, but thought this was a cool looking trend as well!
