I live in the Ottawa area, I believe it is zone 3-4. I want
grow lavender in my garden this year, but I am wondering if there are any secrets to growing this plant. My garden gets full sun most of the day. Any tips would be appreciated.

Emmy, Ottawa is in zone 5a, according to the latest categorization of plant hardiness. You should be able to grow hardy forms of lavender. Look for ones in your local garden centre that are hardy to zone 5 or colder. Follow the instructions on the label for watering and other care. If you have a full sun location, it should do well.
