We are thinking of hanging plastic flower baskets on the porch pillars
My questions are:
1. what kind of plastic basket do you recommend?
2. Is there any particular hook design, and where to get it?
3. Which direction should the hook be screwed on?
4. types of flowers that smell good, last summer long, and match the house colour

I would put one hanging basket on each pillar, with a simple black or brown hook,
I have had great success with geraniums , and I think red geraniums potted with ivy would look nice against the white pillar. As for the type of plastic basket, I would get one tinted a neutral coulour like a greyish brown so that it stands out against the white pillar.
