Hanging Curtains with Sloped Ceiling

I need some advice on how to hang a curtain, in an alcove, around a window where the ceiling is sloped and so close to the window that it cuts off part of the frame.  I know I could do blinds, but would prefer curtains.  Do I hang them in the centre and swag them out, or do I hang them accross the lower part of the window, where there is a divide?  I could really use some advice!ImageImage

Hmm, this is tough! I think roman shades inside the window frame would look really good, as the ceiling does interfere with the space for the curtains. Like the ones seen here http://houseandhome.com/design/roman-blinds-kitchen .You could even cover a rollerblind with wallpaper: http://houseandhome.com/tv/segment/diy-wallpaper-blind

Perhaps even a custom valance would work at the top, with the drapery rod mounted inside the frame, hidden by the valance, though the window treatment company could let you know whether this is possible, and if there are other options. (Valances were featured in our January 2011 issue.)

Good luck!
