Hello Everyone!
I just purchased a beautiful large oblong mirror that I intend to hang over my chocolate brown leather sofa. The mirror is very heavy and does not have any hangers on the back. I was wondering if anyone can give me some advice on how to best hang this mirror securely on the wall!
Thanks for your help!

I recently hung a very heavy mirror too, and it's still on the wall after 8 months lol. What I used was a very heavy gauge wire (the thicker, the better) that you can find with hooks and hangers at home depot etc. Very carefully put two hooks (again, very solid ones) into the back of the frame, making sure you turn them into the wood until they are very secure. Once you do that, string the wire between them, making sure the ends are tied in very well (using your hands or a pair of needle nose pliers).
For the wall plugs, use the appropriate ones (ie for wood, concrete etc.) and drill the holes for them and put them in. Get the appropriate screws to hang the mirror on (make sure the screw will fit into the plug as well).
If you ask anyone in Home Depot or Rona, they should be able to assist you in this as well (if you have any more questions).
We used a cleat to affix a headboard to the wall and it is solid as a rock.

I'm not sure where you would get it cut, but we hung a large mirror over our fireplace like this. It's very strong and secure. Screw one part of the cleat to the wall and the other to the mirror, and slot together. good luck.
