I did, and now I am too sleep deprived to open the book, lol! Can't wait until I can be left alone to read today (no kids demanding freezies etc!)
My only problem is I can't remember much about the prev. book ?!? I will have to revise that one first, before starting this one. :o
Happy reading everyone! :D

ahhhhh...i get it now....i've watched the HP movies and DS has one of the books but i haven't read it too him...and he's had it for a while...don't even know which one it is...he's also got the HP PS2 game...they sound interesting...but i'm more of a Stephen King girl myself....
It's not that the book was in limited supply, it was the excitement of it's release. Much like the people who camp out for weeks for the premiere of Star Wars movies. It's been a long wait for Harry Potter readers since the release of The Order of the Phoenix, and they've been hyped up since a few days before Christmas about Half Blood Prince's release.
I bought my copy at Superstore on Saturday. I imagine the ones that camped out until midnight Friday to get theirs were also partaking in the many festivities held by the bookstores. Reading about some of them, I think me and my crew would have had lots of fun if we attended. Perhaps we'll do that for the next one Rowling is currently working on.

it sounds like this book was hard to find...i was at Walmart a couple of days after it was released and they had a folding table FULL of them...weird...i guess people didn't think walmart would have that many
My 13 year old dd is crazy about all things HP and was very upset to find out that her summer camp started on the same day that HP came out so she can't read it until the end of camp (July 30). She wouldn't take her HP t-shirt or pillowcase to camp as it would remind her of it. I talked to her on the phone and she said she couldn't sleep the night it was being released and when her watch turned to 12:00 she almost screamed. She is going to have her nose stuck in the book when she gets home until it is done. She read all the books to my ds and myself when I would drive them to school (10 minutes each way). It took a year to get through all the books but we loved it.
at Chapters, and strolled in Saturday to get it.
She started re-reading the last one last week, DH has had his butt on the couch for the last two days, and MIL has been in her bedroom - finished it just before supper tonight !!!!!!
So, she, and only she, knows who the half blood prince is !! MUCHO speculation in the house thought !!
when she gets her head stuck in a book, ecspecially by the sounds of this one, she is hoping to be done in a couple of days....daughter hasnt mentioned it again as she knows its not pay again and by then she will have it lol

hoping your friend reads fast.
I couldn't bear to wait! This one is well worth the two year wait... but enough already!
Posting will decline as a result of the release of this book I am convinced!
we have one daughter who collects and reads them over and over again...but this time my girlfriend went and purchased the copy and as a thank you to our daughter for lending her the previous copies she is going to read it and give it to her. I thought that was real special and my daughter will be so excited, i have told her we cant get it until payday to hold her off lol

and WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW.
It starts with a bang... unlike other HP books! Jaw hit the floor!
Not this year, but I think it was last year that DH took my daughter to one of those jam-packed release events. She loved being there.
I don't read non-fiction much at all anymore, but DH does and he has read all of the HP books so far. He must wait 'til she's done though, as she gets first dibs.
Not only for kids. Maybe the first 2 books, but by the 4th and 5th books, they are good reading for adults too.
I haven't read any of them I thought they were kids books and as there are no kids here I never got into them. It wouldhave to be something special to have me stand in line at midnight.
