I just read that Washington, DC, is on the list of the 10 hardest-hit real estate markets in the U.S. -- prices are expected to drop more than 20 per cent next year and another 5 or so per cent in 2010.
So, if you're seriously thinking about plunking down your hard-earned $49 million, don't plan on moving soon, because it may take a while to recover your investment!
You'd have to have a groundskeeper to look after all that. Unless you liked mowing all weekend.
I liked or preferred the outside look and grounds to the inside !
I noticed that too. Figured at 108 years old they would need that clause.
What struck me as funny is the house is sold 'as is'. $49 M and you get 'as is'. Just seems like an odd term to include.

yes sweetpea a museum or a hotel, i cant imagine how you would ever make a place like this feel like home. Geesh, all i want is my living room to be a few feet wider ;) WHO AND THE HECK NEEDS 9 BEDROOMS AND 8 BATHROOMS :eek:
