hello,

let's say you have no capentry skills to speak of. what would be the best way to get two headboards made? like the ones cameron showed last night on that daybed. and how much would something like that cost, roughly?

thanks.

There's also some info in the "headboard" thread in Dec & Design.

I've made a couple of them, one for my son's toddle bed but the basic instructions would be the same for a larger bed.

hi decorgirl,

take a look in decorating & design. look for the thread "wenge wood finish". people talk about the headboards they've made there. that might help you.

good luck!

I would also be interested in making a home made headboard for my son's room. We live in an apartment so we don't really have alot of tools. There certainly seems to be alot of savings in making it yourself, not to mention that you can create a one of a kind piece. What information will I need when I go to Home Depot and what types of materials and tools will I require to complete this project?

my boyfriend and i made one that is similar.. however instead of one large upholstered panel we have 6 smaller ones, all square.. it cost us roughly 80-90$.. and it turned out great..
