Hello, Just curious if anyone has some experience with cymbidiums? I have had this plant for a year now, it was in bloom and very healthy when it was given to me and now I think I'm losing it. Many of the leaves started to show yellow streaking and then those leaves would simply fall off. I do have a few phalaenopsis plants that I did move into another room because I was concerned it might have some type of virus. I did talk to a garden center and was told I was watering to much, so I cut back to watering once every two weeks instead of every week. Still no sign of improvement. I fertilize it once a month and still nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The leaves on my orchid turned yellow. Should I be concerned?
The answer to this question depends upon which leaves are involved. Yellowing of old leaves on backbulbs is a normal part of the aging process. Therefore, this should not be of concern.
However, yellowing of newer leaves is a sign of trouble. Orchids with yellow leaves are an indication that the plant is suffering from either too much light or insufficient feeding. Increase the shading and apply orchid nutrients as directed. Other causes of yellowing include loss of roots and stress due to low temperature.
