Help: Repair a poor broken cactus?

Hello,

I have a cactus that is tall and narrow. It may be called a torch cactus or something like that. It was probably 1 foot tall. Today I came home from work and found the poor thing broken in pieces. Is there a way to save a cactus?

Thanks,
K

This will be too late to help you this time but just in case you need this info some other time. Cactus reroot very easily if you let the broken end scab over for a few days and then just put it in cactus soil. Don't water too much or it will rot before it gets a chance to root. I've used this method numerous times with success. If you have one of those flat segmented cactus just lay the pieces flat on the soil and they'll root. Works well to create a nice full cactus garden.
