anyone here thinking of entering?

You can enter the entire house make-over--or just a room.

I checked the rules, and it doesn't disqualify you for posting pics on an on-line forum......so any takers?

I can think of a few who ought! :)

Yes we did make it up to smallville. Smallville is never to far away for us, we live in the Newmarket area. We ended up finding a place called "LE Shed" it's in Unionville. It's has been featured in H&H a few times. We were a little disappointed in it though. After reading the write-ups in H&h we thought it would have been better, but we found the perfect little side table with a marble top for Camdyn's room (it's in the pics of nursery) $20 and all i had to do was paint ithe base. So the trip wasn't wasted :)

Thanks Jeep
Our hearts skipped a beat last week when we looked at our mail & there was a letter from H&H ! Turns out it was just a confirmation that we are officially entered into the contest, and that if we were chosen as a winner we would be notified by phone........good luck to us!!!!

Hello,
I know it's been a long time, but I"m finally back with a few pics of our Baby's room. We submited it to the H&H contest, and now I guess we just wait and see.

is that somewhere in the rules it says something about how you can't be a designer, but the winners they show have used a designer to help them. How does that make sense?

I was planning on entering next year, since we're restoring our house and hoping to have a lot done by then, but since I have my own decorating business, it doesn't look like I can (but I could hire another decorator to do it and be ok - LOL!).

Hi There I just came across this topic. My wife & I are going to enter the contest. We have just renovated one of our spare rooms. We are expecting our first little one at the end of Aug. so we did our nursery. Everyone we have showed thinks we had a contractor do it, but I happy to say I did it all myself. Including all on the bedding for the crib. So who knows maybe our babys room we be in the mag. ;)

but I don't know if we can meet the deadline. Also, we've never renovated before, so I'm not sure if we're contest worthy. It would be kind of neat though, one of my friends had her reno featured in the Trends issue.

What a wonderful sister!

I think that'd be great!

And I think a rental is important--and too often neglected. Try it and see! You have nothing to lose but a binder, a bunch of photos and time, lol!

but considering I don't have my own home and therefore haven't actually 'done' a room i don't know how well that would work....then again my sister has generously offered up her space if I'd like to go for it....

I've always wanted to enter the contest but every time I see the winners I think "holy cow". Could they have a contest for people who didn't spend $100,000 renovating their house with the assistance of an architect and a designer? How about a down-to-earth contest for the people who, for example, may have painted themselves?
