While travelling this winter I wandered into a high end resale furniture store. The number of cars outside it was what originally attracted me to even go in. It was so much fun to wander through all the furniture and long to be able to buy something. Their business was brisk so I'm thinking that my opinion of the prices being excellent for quality items was confirmed.
This was a well-to-do (stinking rich might be another adjective) area. Wish we had something like that where I live. The 'antique' stores here are junky and the consignment type stores never seem to make it. Too bad.
Just wanted to relate this in case anyone has a store like that where they live and have never considered checking it out.

I keep hearing about places in the Fraser Valley - but only in general terms and no one ever seems to have a name or an address - lol.
I thought if anyone would know a good place it would be someone here! Since I still dream about having hours to shop in Coquitlam when I go through I guess I have enough stops to keep me occupied for the next 100 trips through anyway - lol. It's really hard to pass Ikea - but it takes up all my time and then I don't get to see anything else.
I didn't marry a controlling man, I gave birth to one.
Wolfbaby - wish it were as close as Vancouver. It was in the southern US. Thinking about Vancouver, they do have some very rich areas too so a little searching might be worth it.
DBD - you showed us your leather set - someone got a great couch.
This looking may take a little more time but I'd be willing to do it if I lived in the right area.
Those stores are great. We have one in Calgary (that is where I sold my most fabulous leather set when I moved). They seem to get the stuff that the folks who can afford the best and redecorate on whim need to get rid of. Some of it is stunning. They also carry some new stuff from local manufacturers and some imports but it's the prices on the high end, gently used stuff that is spectacular. I can tell you who ever got my set got a major good deal on a high end set. The other nice thing is they seem to get a lot of custom stuff people had made so you can get some very unique items for prices you can't even find in discount stores. those are good stores if you can wait until just the right thing arrives.
Soooo - was this in the lower mainland? What was it called? How do I find it?
All my travelling around is done with son and puppy - and often DH in the car - and the only wandering approved of is to a dog park or restaurant - lol. If I have a destination I can always detour there, dropping them off at the nearest restaurant and foregoing eating in favour of shopping! :)
