Home Staging?

As most of you know, I am pursuing a career in Interior Decorating and Home Staging. I am enroled in the Sheffield Studies, and I recently applied to take the 2.5 day ASP course when it comes to Halifax (in the spring). Has anyone here taken the ASP Home Staging course, did they find it beneficial, and do they have any inside info they'd like to share?

(ASP - Accredited Staging Professional)

Thanks.

I just received the info... a bit steep considering that is U.S. $ I would really need to know that it would be something a decorator would benefit from. Afterall, it was started for real estate agents. I'm not trying to dissuade just trying to toss it around. Good Luck if you do take it & let me know I think they are in Halifax before my area...

Ms. Rae (as noted below) is bringing her course to Halifax in the spring. I'm taking it through her, at that time. I'm currently doing the Sheffield course, and when I'm finished that, I'll do the homestaging. Then it's off to try to do it on my own.

Have a look at her website, and let me know if it sounds like something you'd be interested in. She's holding the course all over Canada. The cost is $1200 for 2 days (ouch!!!) :-)

Hi Dekota_Skye, did you sign up for the home staging through the web sites you provided? There is only one person in my city who claims she is the only one here who has taken the course. I would be really interested in taking it. Let me know how it goes for you.

Home Staging is where you go into someone's home and help them prepare it to put it on the market for sale - or prepare it for entertaining, or if they're having inlaws move in, or a new baby on the way, etc. It's a lot of organization, furniture placement, etc. You can read about it here.
