What I meant by fill the page is just increase the font size of the letter until it is the size that you want or fills the page. I think that the Noel letters are about 12 inches tall. Also, some areas of the letters may be a little narrow. All I did add some width when I traced it onto the mdf.
If you look in the MSN albums, you can see Homegirls Chrisitmas Photos from last year. She has promised to post more this year but we have to wait.
now im excited, i can hardly wait to see your pics

Please ignore the above question, I figured it out on my computer it is called Poster Printing. So, I have been trying to work with word and get letters like your NOEL. What do I put the font at in order to get about 12 inch long letters. I am assuming yours are about that size. What do you mean by telling the computer to fill the page , is that a command when you are about to print or while working with word. I know I am not too good at this computer business but I am trying.
Now if you could just explain to me what you do to get tile settings on your computer.
I have never heard of this. Do you have any more info on this.
Thanks
For the letters, I printed them off my computer. I set the paper size to the approximate size that I wanted the letter to be and sized the letter to fill the page. When I printed it off, I set the printer to "tile pages" which will print the actual size onto a series of regular sized paper, which you then have to piece together to make the original size.
Yes I did make them out of mdf. I cut it with a tool I have that essentially is a router, with a multi-purpose bit on it. But a jigsaw would work as well, it just would be a little tougher on tight corners.
I found that using spray paint gives the nicer finish on the letters as well.
Definitely post some pictures when you get yours done Zulu!
Well I understand that you would not change too much. Last years display was simply beautiful. I am looking at making some cut outs like your Santa's and Noel. I believe you said you used MDF. What kind of template did you use for the letters and what did you use to do the cutting. Is this very hard for someone who is not too crafty.
That's very sweet of you!! I'm in the midst of putting up the Christmas decor right now (yes I am one of those crazy people!!) But I have to admit that it is nice that when Christmas busy season starts, my house in done and I can enjoy everything else.
As for the decor, nothing to different. Had to move some things around and redid a couple of garlands, but pretty much the same. Ended up with 2600 lights on my tree this year, don't know how I managed that! Definitely testing the electrical system in my house. I will be posting some photos on the members album later on. It was really helpful having those on the site to refer to this year.
Thanks again Zulu!!
