I neglected my weeding in the last part of good weather, and I am just now getting to it. I spent 2 hours this morning, and an hour and a half this afternoon. I'm also tending to stuff I didn't get done, like planting some bulb/rhizome stuff that I got on clearance-may as well put them in pots and see what happens. My snapdragons never took off well, so I transfered them to larger pots for 'wait and see' as well. My friend has some she got a second year out of so I will try.
There are lots of straggly plants out there-hate pulling them now but I hate pulling them after the first frost more, when they get all slimey. (found that out last year)
The weather is good this week, so I hope to finish up. I have a lot of plants I could move now too, to the new garden bed in the back yard.
As for new stuff for fall, I only got a few Chrysanthemums: three small ones for the front garden bed, and two GIANT purple ones for my planters that flank the front door. I get those almost every year-once done I cut the spent stuff and park the pots in a spot I found out by chance works over winter. In Spring I plant out in the garden if they show signs of life!
Busy, busy, busy!

Having a hard time getting started. It was so nice this week, I really just watered and cleaned up around the plants. I bought a few mums and re planted my urn with a large white mum, small burgandy and some ivy and my some coral bells which I will plant in the garden. We have some work to do on the end of our new driveway which ended at a higher grade than my side garden and walkway which leads to our back yard. I really can't decide whether to have a step down or raise the grade... or continue the interlock or use it in a raised bed wall and use the patio stones - at least for this year (as the ground may settle.) I was hoping to get a few bushes and perennials for along that side as I intend to widen it. Everything is on sale and I love getting them started in the fall. I am sure the snow will be flying before I get finished...who am I kidding, I'm never finished..... :(
