How I spent my Saturday

DH and I spent the day today helping with the search or a local 15 year old boy who has been missing for 14 days. It was amazing seeing all the volunteers out there in the cold and the rain. It was very hard going as we had to go through the very dense bush and swampy area. When we arrived this morning we were loaded on to buses in groups of about 20 people to be taken to different areas in the vicinity. The people that have come together to help this family is overwhelming. The fellow from the show "Mantracker" was even there today. He came on to our bus and gave some tips on searching in the bush. He spent the entire day at the command centre giving advice and helping out. My prayers go out to this young boys family. May he come home safely.

I cannot imagine any greater pain than to lose a child.

Truly heartbreaking. My family in Ontario and I have been watching this. As sad as the results are, I think not knowing would be so much worse. I wish the news could have been better.

So tragic...a heartbreaking story.

My thoughts & prayers go out to Brandon's parents and siblings.
Hoping they don't blame themselves and are able to find strength to move forward.

Yes very sad indeed.

But now the family can have closure.

(I still often think how difficult it is with the family of the missing girl who was never found during her Spring Break vacation in Aruba and the unsolved mystery)

It has been a very sad afternoon here. The Barrie police confirmed early this afternoon that Brandon's body was found not far from where we had been searching. We had gone back to help search a couple more times. I am very emotional right now and feel like I have lost a member of my own family.
My thoughts and prayers are with Brandon's family. Thanks everyone or thinking about him too.

Discovering a body is never a good ending :( Well, it is, but it isn't, if you know what I mean.

Good for you for helping, macsmom.

macsmom, that was great of you and your DH to help out with the search.......everyone is hoping he is found safe and sound.....what a terrible time it must be for the parents.....our prayers are with everyone involved in finding him.

This episode brings back to memory when my little cousin went missing one evening and the whole village came together looking for him and thank God he was found alive in an open well which he fell into while looking for crickets and luckily it had only a small amount of rainwater in it.

Macsmom-

The family is very fortunate to have the kindness of people like you & your husband to help with their search. I can't begin to imagine the worry & heartbreak they must be experiencing at this time.

My thoughts and prayers are also with Brandon and his family. I truly hope there is a happy ending for them.
