I live in Collingwood. Georgian Peaks Ski Club and the Craigleith area (on the shores of Georgian Bay) had alot of damage. I have heard that they are not even sure the ski club will be able to open this winter there was so much damage. It actually sheared off a couple of the towers for the ski lifts and took the roof off of quite a few chalets as well as destroyed quite a few of the buildings at the ski club.
It was pretty scary as my 12 year old son had gone on his bike into town in the afternoon. When the warnings started to come out I immediately called him and told him to get to his Dad's office. My husband was not there but at least I knew he would be inside but the office is on the bay so I was worried about that too. I got him in the car at 4:25. We were home at 4:30. The tornado hit at 4:32.
You can see pictures if you go to the Georgian Peaks Ski club's website and then go to the photo gallery.

I was in a pocket where there was no wind - just lots of thunder and rain.

I heard yesterday that they've ascertained that at least 4 tornadoes touched down - one each in Milton, Newmarket, Vaughn and Durham. The weather guys are checking the Collingwood area for a possible 5th.

We're in Oakville (@ 20 min SW of Pearson airport)
It was quite the storm, but we were fortunate w/ no tornado touch-down.
I don't think I've seen rain come down like that before and just whip arond in torential downpour. The thunder & lighting was crazy!! Nothing fizzes our dog, but she sure had her tail wrapped under last night and stuck to us like glue:eek:

Strange thing was our build-in microwave above the stove. (comb. with vent fan). Somehow-despite being very close to our neighbors home and outside vent sheltered from the wind/rain, the rain still managed to find it's way in and was coming down inside the microwave. Took a while to figure out where the strange noise had been coming from...

Anybody here from Durham or Vaughan/Maple area? They were unfortunately pretty hard hit. Hope everyone ok!!
