I've decided to continue the look of house with the following decor...that way, the next time the builder has to do something, we may never notice...
I'm calling the new design.. "back to the womb room" and the porch is going for a "post-huff and puff i blew your house down" look. What do you guys think? Should I keep it? ;)

when we had the house built we asked to thave the laundry room moved from upstairs to thebasement, the builder dropped the ball and went ahead and put the laundry room in, completed the drywalling, ceiling and painting then had to rip it out, they made a mess of the ceiling by trying to just patch it...you could see under the stipple where the old framing was and it looked like crap.
see attached pic
As for the porch, whenever anyone smoked a cig out there, all I could smell after was cig smoke in the same room as the ceiling issues. When they ripped the porch apart, they found that the vapour barrier and typar hadn't been sealed (thus the cig smoke was finding its way up into the room) - Good thing we did discover that because if you look at the pic, you'll see they also installed a vapour barrier on the cold side of the insulation (very bad thing to do as it causes condensation which can lead to mould etc)
I'm kinda growing used to the draped plastic...lol...now if I can just convince the landscaper to dig that hole a little deeper I could rid the world of bad contractors.. heehee and keep my house clean.. lol
Those dark circular spots are condensation from the attic. Someone has to go up there and move the insulation from the area of the spots. and check it out. I bet the area is wet. You can see it on the wood..stained water marks...have it checked....better safe than sorry. Take a flashlight and photograph the area.
HOLY CRAP! Do you have major leaks in the ceiling or something? At least they're coming out to fix it and it seems they're doing it the right way (I hope). My parents keep getting these circle spots on their ceiling in the living rm and all it seems they did was come out with a white spray paint can and mask the water mark. Friggin lazy buggers.
At least you know how thick the insulation is LOL
Looks like my home was a few years back after the dreaded ice storm...5 months later it was liveable....The contractor in charge send us away all expenses paid for 5 days while they sanded floors throughout etc...
The insurance company picked up that tab....
I feel for you have you tried "i'm a Lawyer Trump card yet" you would think that would scare them into getting your work done.I know contractors are busy but as I told my builder that he would go broke in a month in any other business. In the real world they could never get away with the crap they get away with. Here in BC they always give the song about Home Warranty if you get someone else the warranty won't be any good well guess what if I can't get you here to do it the warranty isn't any good anyway. :hairpull:
into using it as an inspiration room...lol ...it only cost 300k to get this look...lol and there is that little punch of colour in the painter's tape.. lol
i think that should make the cover for next month!!
hmmm...remind me not to ever piss you off... :D
big enough for him to join the tree....Sheesh, I'm starting to sound like the crazy lady...(note to self.. practice an evil cackle.. )
HA HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.....there ya go...lol...make sure that's the first room you show them...lol...call it the...''Finish or else room''
how to deal with the next contractor that pees me off.. LMAO!
who's coming over?...CSI?....lol...looks like a room a serial killer would have for easy clean up... :D
