So my interview went well yesterday and they just called me to confirm my references just a little while ago. Now one of my reference just called me to tell me that they were going to call the Board back... I know she will give me a great reference but just knowing she is talking to her right now is making my heart race and I feel like I can't breath. AHHHHHHHHHHH :hairpull:

I don't think you have anything to panic about -- other than what you're going to wear on your first day at your new job!! It's sounding really good for you -- here's hoping you get the call you're waiting for SOON so you can leave the house!! :D

So my last reference called me this morning to say she had spoken to the hiring officer, and that it went really well. But I am still waiting to hear, I am afraid to go out cause I don't want to miss the call, and every time the phone ring I just out of my chair... LOL

My other refence called me tonight to say she and the hiring lady had played phone tag all day, so she will be calling her first thing in the morning. So I still have my fingers crossed, god I hate waiting.

Have you worked out what may or may not happen when they call? If they need someone right away, what happens if they say they want you to start Monday? What if they want you to start a week from Monday? Work out all the possibilities if you have another job you have to leave just so you won't be caught off guard. Also figure out if you would walk from you current job without notice to get this job. The more you have worked out before hand in your mind, the better.

Even figure out what to say if you get the call you don't want, like they hired someone else. Have something figured out to say so they know you are still interested should anything else come up (often new folks don't work out so it's not unheard of to be hired a month later).

So, prepare for yes, no, and maybe...any possibility you can think of before they call you.

Meanwhile, fingers crossed for you and here's hoping you find a way to pass the time or that they call you soon.

All they said was as soon as possible. They have been short staffed for about a month now, but with all the other school hiring that take priority over support jobs like this they haven't had time to interview til now.

Well that is really a positive sign. They sure don't waste time on references on people they aren't seriously considering. Did they tell you when they will make their decision?

Well one of my references just messaged me to tell me that she had spoken to the hiring officer and they said they really liked me, and that I interview really well. Now I am even more nervous just sitting here and waiting.

Thanks ladies, I called my mom and she said its a good sign if they are calling my references. Plus my mom does know the head of hiring for the board. But I am still totaly stressed waiting to hear.

Sounds like you've got a great chance of getting this job!! They wouldn't be calling your references if they weren't interested :)

Try not to panic too much -- and keep us posted!!
