Ideas for Sitting Room with Upright Piano

Our "piano room" as we'd like to call it has housed a pair of wing chairs for 23+ years now which have faded out quite a bit now (originally light green in colour) and I feel are definitely too large for the room.  We have just recently added pots lights to this room, painted, and changed the floor tile.  We love the carpet and need to keep the piano, but everything else can go.Any suggestions you could provide to me in terms of what fabric colours to use, what types of furniture I should incorporate, or what other types of accessories or accent pieces I could use would be greatly appreciated.  This room has always been a difficult one to handle as it has a very large opening directly in front of the piano that opens to the dining area and a standard door opening to the right of it, so I was limited as to where I could place the piano.  To the left of the piano, there is a heating vent centred just between the two wing chairs (on the floor), so I was always unable to place the piano there, as it would be directly beneath the piano.  Do I use the perimeter of the walls, should I angle it???  Any help with decorating tips would be greatly welcomed.  Thank you in advance.Image001Image001 Image002Image002

Oh my goodness, Mrs. Peacock!  Thank you so very much for these wonderul ideas and for your quick response to my dilemna.  I completely agree with you, that the existing wing chairs are definitely too large for that room.  Love the gallery idea.  Prior to painting this room, we did have an array of family photos of photos that are near and dear to us.  They were made up of the same frames in a elegant green colour, mainly 8x10 and one larger 16x20 which was centred around the others.  I never thought about adding a small love seat as the room already looked so crowded by those overpowering wing chairs.  You have given me some great ideas and some things to think about.  I am very excited to start looking for some choices.
