Ikea here I come!

I will be placing an order to Ikea now in just a few minutes and thought I'd share the excitment.
I will probably be MIL for a bit, (no more than a few minutes I'm sure, hehe), as I am trying to do the finishing touches on my already long list of items.

I do have a busy day ahead, arguing with landlord, catching up on my soon to be take-home exam, or is it take-out exam?

I will do my best to stay a way from this place, needless to say I'm sure I'm in for failure.....

;) Just kidding, you're absolutely right, I really hope they will work, but I think I'll have to wait for my furniture and swatch to meet up and see if they will play along or hate each other. I fear my sofa might feel inferior to the silk, I just love the stripes! Since I can't sew I have to pay big bucks for the ready made....

I had an inckling it might be in US $$, although the expensive drapes might weigh up for my Ikea cheapies....
I ordered a swatch, not sure if they'll send me one or not, once I got my furniture, I can have a better look, for that price, I WANT to be sure...

the Ikea stuff takes about 10-14 days! I simply can not wait that long!!!

I'm seriously considering getting those draperies, it's really too bad I'll need two panels...I wonder if I can get away with one, haha!

yes they were, but I simply MUST have them. DH is not getting new shoes, I NEED these!
Thai silk, I think 189 per panel, hm...

I will check into this burlap thingie....
Now my plan has been turned upside down, I have too many things I want for a hundred bucks...I wonder if I should be nice and factor in DH's wants in this....
I'm nervous about getting curtains from Ikea, so now I'm in shock, now I'm back to get table do not get table...ah, will it never end!!

The one thing I wanted the most I can't order, how horribly mean is that!
I really wanted the tray table, and now I have $100 left to spare because of course they didn't have my curtains either. hm....what else to get what else to get.....

What is Burlap?

I like Dy'ns idea of changing the colours on the footstools, and I might do just that. I think I remember they're not the greatest quality pieces, so....I got them anyways :)

interfere....I think that with the look you are trying to achieve you can probably find something cheaper, that you can DIY to work for you...how about searching out a base that appeals to you with a piece of glass or a tray top?

I believe the table is square when it is not folded out?

I keep changing my mind, mostly because I want other little knick knacks too, and thus the coffee table is too expensive (!!!), thinking I might get an untreated pine one and beat it up and paint it myself.....

Have you measured against your sofa yet? Are you measuring by the coffee table or the sidetable???

well, the paint chips that are hanging on my wall is one sandy yellow and one beachy green :) BM Landscape....
I'm trying to talk landlord into letting me paint the window frames white, they are a yucky 70's style brown now...I might have to go with the light yellow though...

My curtains will be off white, I hope - that's what the description says....

You will have to tell me the date when the new shipment arrives in fall, I will have to camp outside.
I still feel robbed for the Parson chairs, Mambo told me you got them?

Decor, that is the table in question indeed. They have one as a sidetable and one as a coffee table, I think the side table would work best for me. I'm just nervous about ordering something from them I haven't personally seen. Ikea does have some faults I'm afraid to admit it, but...

You're lucky what a bargain! My Superstore unfortunately is like the difficult little brother, they never have anything in the one close to me.
It takes too long away from the forum to travel to the other store... ;)

yes, both Artsy and Dreamer had a look at the table for me at Ikea, a bit of difference in opinion, Artsy said it was ok, like most things from Ikea, things don't last forever, but I am still strongly contemplating it, I think having white footstools as coffee table might be an overdose...And I don't think DH will appreciate it at all!!!
I'm just worried I won't like the table...I think 189 for a table from IKEA is a bit...

I guess you can say they are slipcovered, you can take it off, thankfully, must buy a second set of different colour for when bleach can no longer help, or perhaps it will be a way for me to finally diet, no chocolate eating on the couch.

I'm getting a 3 seater and a love seat, the armchair business doesn't really work for my living room I think...I had my heart set on the 2+1 thing and couldn't shake it I guess.

As for the chairs for dining, I still have no idea, I'm toying with the idea of just buying a bench like someone mentioned and make a white cushion for it, stain it similar colour to the table and once we can get chairs put it on the porch for plants, hehe.

I still haven't made up my mind for a coffee table...I'm thinking of Artys' idea for small footstools as a grouping....But a bit too much white...

Just went out and bought a sisal area rug for the seating area.

Hm..long post, very excited ;)

Thought you'd never ask! hehe.
After much debating here on the forum, I think I'm going to go with two sofas instead of two armchairs and a sofa....Still a bit iffy on the rest still, my list is longer than my budget....
I'm thinking either bits and pieces of chairs, tables etc, or a bed and a mattress, hehe.
