.... what would cause the bulbs to blow?? Maybe we made a mistake when we installed it -- if our positive and negative wires are backwards, could that cause the bulbs to blow?? Or would the light just not work at all if that was the case??

I'd rather not re-wire the light until I'm sure that there are no other possible causes for my bulb problem.

Thanks! :)

I love it! Especially being in my office! Yay! And thanks again for all the info you provided!

I wonder what's wrong with the light bulbs in Smoodgie's?!?

How's his twinkle?

Well, I already had DH handcuffed to my desk. I couldn't add a light fixture in there too. (That would be too kinky!) :D

Well, make sure you set aside some time for counseling. You're clearly not a very open family. Communication is key Paula!

The poor light! He would still have had a home here, he just didn't give me a chance to explain!

However, I will take it in and treat it like my own child. You might want to consider putting a notice on the milk cartons, I feel terrible it knows it's not loved. Hopefully, he will stay off the main roads and not get involved with some nasty trailer trash chandelairs on the way down here.

Yes, some of them are quite jealous. In fact the one I took down for the star light has run away from home. If you happen to see a poor little ugly light fixture hitching a ride across Canada, that's likely mine - show it some love please! :D

Are the other lights jealous? You have to particularly care for the others now in this time of need. I bet your X-mas decorations are wildly jealous as well.

Your starlight looks beautiful in your room. It was the perfect fixture for this room. Love it with your Paris accessories. I bet these lights really look beautiful at night.

So happy for you!!

Thanks! :)

They come in 3 sizes, actually. Mine is the 10", and there is also 14" and 17".

Artsy posted tons of info on these not too long ago. If you do a search for 'star light' and 'Artsy' you should find it. She lists prices, phone #'s...everything you'd want to know about them!

I'm using a plain old bulb - 60w.

I wondered about the wiring - it looked like speaker wire, and there was no grounding wire, but DH said the ceiling box itself was grounded, so shouldn't be a problem. I hope it's okay!

And BTW, yes I did jump up and down when I received it! :)

Paula, your star light looks fantastic!! It looks so good in the spot where it's hanging :)

Out of curiosity, what kind of bulb are you using in it?? I used the same one as Artsy (a crystal-cut halogen bulb, 50 watts), and it burned out last night -- and I just put it in last week :( I'm not sure if it's because of a problem with the bulb, the fixture, or the wiring.

At any rate, enjoy your beautiful new star light!! :)

I've wanted for soooo long, so I'm thrilled to finally have one!

Luvdesign, I ordered it from Quipus Crafts in Toronto.

Elise - you can have one - just order by phone!!!! :)

Lisi - I received it in just over a week, so it was pretty quick! I remember you saying your daughter was mugged! How awful, but she's safe, thank goodness. DH & I went to France not too long ago and loved it too!
