I made it Jenjen and substituted the endive with fresh spinach. It was delicious. I also found the right tiny pasta today. I have lots in containers in the freezer.
here is one from foodtv.com...pretty a typical way of making it...atleast it's the way that my MIL and Nonna make it...but withour the endive...and with the pasta....you could use macaroni noodles if you wanted also...

i used to make pastina for my boys when they were babies....they absoloutely loved that stuff...haven't made it in ages...
the tiny pasta balls are called pastina found in the dry pasta section. it is a chicken broth based soup with egg, spinach and tiny little meatballs. sorry i don't have a recipe but if you want to try a pretty good version Campbell's has one out now. Aptly called "Italian Wedding Soup". If Nona only knew I was eating her soup from a can...:D-
If you can't find a recipe, East Side Mario's has good Italian Wedding Soup :) My hubby's been known to eat 4 or 5 bowls of it in one sitting, on top of his meal!!
