It is 20* today. I feel like I should be doing something in my garden, but I have to keep reminding myself it is only March!
The beds are thawed, so I feel as if I should be loading up on manure and mulching the beds, but it is only March!
I feel as though I should be digging new beds, but it's only March!
Maybe I could start the landscaping in front and remove the grass, and level the gradient and sprinkle on new grass seeds...but it's only March!
Ooh, maybe I could hang some pretty baskets filled with flowers, nope, nothing in the store yet, it's only March.
So what am I left with? I have set up the garden furniture, whipped up the umbrella (way too much sun, lol), ate my lunch outside...so all that's left is to sit there and soak in the vit.D, and plan my gardening...which I should be doing right? No, it's only MARCH! :D

Hey Cat, there are several clumps of crocus' in full swing in my gardens. The tulips are up about 6" and the daffodils iris' are coming up too! I'm in Southern Ontario, 30 min. west of Barrie. I was out weeding yesterday and trimming back some of my perennials. I LOVE spring! :clapping: :D

Hey, guess what? I went out to shovel the snow and noticed a tulip (I think it's a tulip) poking out about 4"! This is not only totally amazing given the time of year and being Calgary, but there was nothing showing in that bed when I bought the house last spring. maybe the silly squirrels actually buried the bulbs they stole from someone else?
I've actually started cleaning up out there already. That's a good thing, as my garden beds are weed-magnets! I've got some creepy grass to battle in my Iberis Candytuft mounds, as usual, and a nasty weed that seeds explode off of when you touch them just slightly if you allow them to develope to that point. (I'm trying to get those out early this year!)
It was about 10 degrees yesterday when I was out there, but with no wind it was actually nice. Now hopefully DH will get out there and cut that shaggy grass! It's really looking long and messy.
Or...you could come to my house and shovel the walk. Snowing again after 15 yesterday, it's only March - in Calgary.
