actually that was what i told DH...she was based the increase on my house with a house that just sold down the road from me....same acreage...smaller house with no garage but a tiny workshop....sold last week for $440K....but i do agree with you when you say that they will tell you what you wanna hear...no doubt about that

The problem with a house market where the prices are rising is that you have to buy another house at the same inflated prices for which you sell your present home. The only person that actually makes any money is the realestate agent since they get a percentage of the ever growing values! The only way you can make any real money when selling a home in an increasing market is if you move to an area where the houses are not going up in value, or going up at a smaller rate of increase. Also, if a realtor thinks he can get you to list your house with them, they tend to tell you things you want to know; that is, they are happy to inflate their estimate of the house's value. It's one thing to say your home is up by $175,000, it's another thing to find someone to offer you an increase of $175,000. Those guys can be sneaky!

Tell him there is no profit in selling as it is going to cost him the 175K
in anything and everything to keep you happy! Start makin a list and make sure all the high price items are at the top :D And where in blazes does he think he's moving to?
Timbuktoo? Heck, tell him if he dares to put up the sign he is looking at moving in to a shed, complete with outdoor plumbing, extension cord access, and his big TV, meals and the like extra...(You can use my shed as inspiration!) :p

Never the blues! "That's Amore" is more my style. I do a mean "My Way" too. And when I say "mean", I mean MEAN - I have been told it is painful to hear!

Ya, heard one martini and your singing the blues!

I start singing Dean Martin songs after two drinks does not qualify me as a lightweight. In some circles I would be known as a "fun date". Or was that a "cheap date"???

I may not drink often but when I do watch out! My usual camel personality turns into fushia and lime green! I like to look flashy when I am dancing on the table!

I prefer to think Savoury!

I'm thinking a drink would go down quite well right now. I'm sure between Newb/myself and Mike D.. we could get you back off the wagon, on top of the table only to have you end up back under it in pretty short order.

I also have it on fairly good authority that there are several other Lightweights in our midst when it comes to consumption levels.
