kindness of strangers

HHassist's picture

Just thought I'd share this...

On the weekend my husband went to canadian Tire to buy a new wheelbarrow. He thought it would come unassebled but it didn't. When he got it out to the car, it didn't fit in the trunk. He said he was struggling to try to fit it into our backseat when a young guy came up to our car and asked if he could help by putting it in his truck and driving it to our house! So that is what they did...he folowed my husband back to our house. I thought that was incredibly nice to go out of his way to help us out!

Don't really was just someone being kind. My Dh and I are the "be suspisious of all strangers" kind of people too. My Dh said he was just a kid with his girlfriend and they were initially just trying to help my dh get this into our car but when they reallized it wasn't going to work without taking the wheelbarrow apart then he offered to drive it for dh so he wouldn't have to go to all the trouble. I appreciate your concern though as I also believe there are alot of people that do things like this for their own purposes.

.....I think your husband should not have accepted his offer. While this man's kindness was genuine, he took a big risk in allowing him to do that!!! We want so desperately to believe that there are good people still out there, but we have to use our heads and practice caution.
I'm glad this man turned out to be decent, the next guy might not!!!!

Good to hear a story about a nice person helping out a stranger :) After the rude jacka$$ I ran into at Home Depot on the weekend, it's nice to know that not ALL people are jerks!!
