This is day one of my kitchen reno of my house which was built in 1924! I'm really excited. I'm going to try to post some pics every day. They anticipate it should take about 2 weeks. Cross your fingers for me!
1) Before, north wall (this is just after I moved in last summer - the yellow walls were the first thing to be go - I painted them a light sage last fall - a temporary measure till the main reno!)
2) The reno after only two hours. Everything AND the kitchen sink gone already!
The cabinets were original or very close to original. They were so narrow my dinner plates didn't fit. When the contractor came this morning, one of the doors actually fell off in his hands - an auspicious beginning to what I hope will be an exciting time!
It looks like there is some sort of smoke damage on this wall. I find it fascinating to see the various layers of paint and cabinets and imagine the life of this house.
