OK

I tried some of the things from the mock up, i put some firecracker plants there against the brick next to the palm, and I tried t some other things like the mock up but I had to many colors in the m/u and I sort of stopped till the other day when i came across you all in my bookmarks and i wanted to try again. I need to keave the monkey grass, palm and firecracker, plants. also the black rock, but what in the middle? i want plants that don;t last 1 season. as u can see I am not an avid gardener.
I thought this looked familiar. I am attaching one of the mock ups we did last year. Maybe you can fill us in as to what you'd like to see or have in mind so some other options can be put forward.
I would go to http://www.perennials.com
You can type in your zone and whether you want sun or shade plants and also the colours you would like. You will get a list of plants with info in height , water requirements , etc.
It is great place for info.
I am in South Texas. I don't know the zone, we are next to the last one. I think. This picture was taken around 12 noon. This gets the afternoon sun. We are hot and humid. I have seen lots of web sites and on this one I saw how you drew on the photos and it just look like you all knew what you were doing. just even tell me what colors would look good or something. Yhis is what we see out our front door and look at from the street.
It is a sago palm.
Thank you
:) You have to be in a semi tropical gardening zone and for us Canadians it is hard to suggest trees/plants as we are not very familar with plants other than for colder zones. There are many web sites with great info however.
Is that a date palm?
What zone are one in and what kind of light or shade and how much of it??
