Great then I will find a light no problem for sure!!!
You can definitely put an outdoor light indoors. All the wiring, etc., is the same. The outdoor/indoor difference is more that an indoor light won't do well outdoors (not waterproof, glass may be too delicate, etc).
Good luck -- I think you're on the right track!
Since I install all of my own light fixtures....I can answer that question.....the outside lights CAN be installed inside but the reverse...inside installed outside cannot.......the outside lights have better insulating wires because of the outside elements...and since an inside light does not.....an inside light would not withstand the outside elements..........I would check with HD to confirm this and I would ask about the light bulb....because there are also outside/inside light bulbs....find out if you can use the inside bulb on a outside fixture...................hope this post makes sense...good luck....................
Thanks Dr. Decor I was looking at some outdoor ones but I did not know if you could actually put inside ( ok I electrically dumb :o ) I was planning to ask at hardware store.
is available in either black or white. It's made for outdoor use, but I think it could complete your look really well. And for $15, you could use this until you find something different.
I've seen this idea used in completing a "nautical" theme -- this is the kind of lights used on docks, etc.. Light is from Home Depot, $13.75:
Thanks I never looked at Ronas. I really just need a light and maybe one more thing for a corner. :)
Rona has tons of nautical stuff. Ships, nautical furniture, picture frames, sailboat pictures, rope stuff. Worth a look.
you might want to check Rona for nautical themed accessories. You may as well check out their lighting department while you're there too. Don't go by their website for what they have in stock... it bites. They've got some very nice fixtures in person. Though, I don't know if they have the nautical lighting you're after.
Thats neat I already have a black round mirror up though thanks :) ( I was trying to create the porthole idea :) )
I just went to the Independent Store in Stittsville and they just sold all their sailboats ( on clearance) :hairpull: Of course we just have a stinky Loblaws here and it is a sucky one as they never have half the stuff like the rest of the big stores in the city
It sort of makes me think of fabric floating in the wind, like a sail :) There's a similar one, I think on the page after that one.
Oooh, how about a porthole mirror to put on the wall??
that second one looks like a flower or a cloud :)
:) I like that Ikea one I do not mind spending 50 I just do want to spend over a 80bucks
I will post pictures tomorrow as I am going to get developed then Miss oldfashion here, does not have a digital camera
This one is fun, and $30:

I think Ikea sells a similar light to the one alilboogie posted a pic of..... found it:

50 bucks, though :( Although there are some other fixtures on the Ikea site that might work and are a lot cheaper.
So when are you posting pics?? :D
I really do not need a fan light. I do not mind them but I would never get one up as DH sure is dandy but not very handy
that light is nice but I am not planning on spending much on one :)
All I found online were these
Bigmama.........would a ceiling fan work?....giving it that breezy nautical theme?..........I know...shame on me for suggesting....but I kinda like them................or try a good lighting store....they have everything...........................you may be able to find what alilboogie was suggesting for less................................ :D
