I just got back from the big sale at the local nursery, I bought myself a Purple Fountain Grass! It doesn't look anywhere near as pretty as yours, but I'm hoping that it grows quickly (you mentioned that didn't you?).
I also bought a ton of other stuff, mostly perrenials, so I guess I have my work cut out for me. Tomorrow the guy is coming to re-shape our walkways, re-gravel and remove all the @#$^ weeds! I'm so excited!

I have had 2 die until a nursery told me to make sure the roots are always cool. So I mulched up over the roots and that seemed to work. Also went you plant a new one you should angle it away from whatever it is growing on so the roots are under most of the growth...that help to keep roots cool. Hope this helps.

Glad you enjoyed your coffee outside, one of my favourite things to do. My family is mostly gone too, son off to work, now that the semester is over it will get even busier in this household. DH is driving a RV back from Toronto, (crazy) he started Friday morning and was already in Regina last night. He does this occasionally (not professional) and I can not share adventures like that with him, absolutley hate driving! He had angioplasty in Dec. and his recovery has been remarkable. So it's just me and daughter, we will do a nice early dinner, maybe find some Patio-Restaurant, Jazzie, I don't have any Honeysuckles. DH built a Pergola last year and we planted Clemantis, it grew so fast and I was really excited but somehow it died , it's really a mystery but we bought an other one this spring ( keep my fingers crossed). Have a great day.

Well, DH and sons have gone to my Mom's to help her out, so I guess I'll be out there alone! Oh well, I sat out there this am drinking my coffee (I love doing that) and decided on a few things, as soon as I get them in place I'll take a few pics to show you. I bought a honeysuckle vine for my obelisk, my fingers are crossed that it doesn't die. Do you have any experience with these? I got a new outdoor table in zinc (matches my planters) for Mom's day-I can't wait to show you.

That's great! My purple fountain grass filled in quickly , it's considered a moderate grower but we can expect spectacular foxtail like flower plumes in July/August. They say it's almost impossible to keep over the winter but I am going to try it anyhow (was pricey!).
I'll be interesting to see the progress with our fountain grass, we have to post pics during the summer.
Sounds like you'll have lots of work done tomorrow and the nice part is, you'll be able to watch him do it. Happy Mothers Day!
