My living and dining room is 20 feet long. It is one big room. I am debating whether or not to make it a full dining room. My table will be is 6.5 feet inches long with no leaf and with an 18 inch leaf it will be 8 feet in length.
My question is.... should I center the dining table in the middle of the room at 6.5 feet or 8 feet with 6 chairs. Should I purchase 2 more chairs if I insert the leaf? Or will it be alright with just six?
Should I put 2 chairs on the side for a small seating area?.......
The other option would be to push the dining area as much as possible to one side and split the room and then create a living room area.
Please share your opinion. Is 20 feet enough for 2 rooms???

The idea of that piture is just perfect for your concern marisa and if am you i will take this advice....
Hi marisa ali, 20 feet long for living / dining room combo is tight in today's standard, but certianly possible. I don't recommend purchasing additional dining chairs to take up more space, but rather you could consider a bench seating the can served double function towards the living and dining room depending on your needs.
