We have a regular gas stove with gas for the cooktop and the convection option oven. I like the gas part of it. It is fast for heating up, especially the cooktop for getting the frypans going, etc. We have had this stove for 2 years now. The last gas stove I have was a brown coloured one back in early 1980's and the broiler was in the drawer at floor level. They sure have come along way! I did not find any difference using the convection part of the oven. I found that I usually had to leave stuff in a bit longer because it was not done and muffins are suppose to puff right up and with nice big muffin tops but did not find that either so would not waste my money a convection oven option next time.
We have 2 what they call "Fat Boys" they look like a small tank but are much wider and taller. The reason we went with them is if you go with a big tank that sits in your yard you have to have it 20 feet from any building and it would have to sit right in the middle of our lawn. With the Fat Boys they can go right up beside a building so we have it beside our detached garage at the backof the house. We have only ouyr BBQ cooktop and 1 fireplace using propane and we have had it filled when we moved in Mar 08 and they were filled again this spring and it was only about $200.00 so we don't use much. We are on a monthly checkup and the truck just comes and looks and if it needs filling they fill it the tanks are to big you couldn't move them to fill them on your own.
We ordered the cooktop in a Propane I am not sure what it takes to convert it to gas.
I don't think that the stove is on their site. I was surprised to see it there last year but I noticed the other day that they are still selling this model at my local COSTCO.
I believe it is made by Frigidaire but I cannot guarantee. A friend of mine has the gas oven and loves it but is not a baker and matter of fact she compares it to having an indoor barbeque....not sure exactly what that means but anyway. I have another friend who swears by the electric oven for baking etc since she says it is hard to regulate the gas for even cooking when baking.
Hope that helps.
Hello now i have another question regarding my searce for a new gas stove....i have now discovered they have "duel fuel" stoves!...meaning gas to cook with and the over is electric!...my question is what is better to buy a gas stove with the gas oven or the duel fuel?...is the gas oven a better choice with it heating up faster or will electic oven be a cheaper hydro bill?? at this point i am not sure which way to go???
lessismore i am going to check out the costco website for that stove u mentioned
PearlG i am going to google that stove u mentioned and start some more homework!....Tks. everyone..
Second I have a Wolf cooktop in propane (we don't have gas here) and I love it.
Interesting. We are planning to re-do our kitchen in the spring and I have been looking into gas stoves. We too would have to go with propane. Can you tell me what size of tank you have and how often you have it filled. Also, is it true that it is simple to convert the gas stove to work with propane?
Sorry chea, not trying to hijack your post. Have you looked at Costco. I was in there and they had a lovely looking stainless steel gas range that looked very much like the industrial models we had seen at a home show. The only difference was the size was manageable for a standard kitchen. They were priced at $2000.
Hello Jeep, tks. for your reply, I just found out yesterday that a 30' gas wolf stove is over...are u sitting down? $6,000.00 YIKES!! way over my budget. So now back to the drawing board, i did look at a Bosh gas stove that is more in my price range....I love the look of your cooktop Jeep!..and i hear that food taste's better with gas?? I guess i will find out one of these days!...
First of all I had to do that just this week it wouldn't let me sign in and then the next day I was back so maybe with any luck it will be the same for you.
Second I have a Wolf cooktop in propane (we don't have gas here) and I love it. They are pricy but they clean up like a dream and get really hot fast and they look really good too. Mine is 2 years old and I wouldn't trade it for anything.
