I live in Moncton, NB and I have not had any luck finding malted milk powder. Does anyone know of any mail order outlet where I could buy this? I found a place in New Hamshire U.S.A. however the powder was $4.99 and the air fare was going to be $16.00 so I didn't pursue it there. Thank you in advance.

Thanks for your input Foxxy. I decided that I will have to sacrifice some flavour as I am not willing to send for the real stuff from Vermont since it would cost me $21.00 American. Knowing me I probably wouldn't make the dessert again as I thoroughly enjoy the challenge of trying new recipes. Nonetheless, thank you for your interest.
The Ovaltine with malted is not the malted milk powder. It tastes a bit malted but nothing like the real malted powder. :)
Thank you for your interest in my quest for malted milk powder. I called one of my Superstores and voila! they carry Ovaltine. Problem solved :)
Horlicks or Ovaltine? They should be available at larger grocery stores and if they are not stocked, perhaps ask the grocery manager if they can bring some in for you. Most stores are eager to help out their customers when they can. Nestle has a chocolate malt drink called Milo also. I'm not sure about grocery stores in your area but if you have a Real Canadian Superstore or a newer, larger Loblaws they will have them. Try Wal-Mart also. I think because the product is pricey a smaller store would prefer to stock other items that would move faster - just my opinion.
Here is a great link for a website that specializes in UK food items, they even have Horlicks.

I love it and used to be able to get it in Ottawa. Then they stopped stocking it, but I found some in the US on a trip there.
