Maple Leaf Recall

I have some Maple Leaf Bacon in the fridge and I see it is not on the recall list but I am afraid to eat it. I think it is going in the garbage. I was surprised to see how many different things are on the list. Here is a site with the list http://www.stcatharinesstandard.ca/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=1165103

I'm not concerned in least, Lisa... but I sure appreciate the assurances! :)

Thanks for that Lisa. It is awful for all those, and their families, who have been harmed. Unfortunately this is part of the mass production of food - any food. Unlike tomatoes, or do we even know if tomatoes were the problem, Maple Leaf has searched and identified the problem and admitted it. I read the product numbers, thought about it, and felt secure enough to eat my lunch today. There is no certainty in anything. People have been ill or even died from foods that were considered organic. Many times the problems can be how food is treated at home. There are no givens in this life.

Hi Jeep and to any others concerned about the Maple Leaf recall:

My husband is one of the Directors of Sales at Maple Leaf Foods and unless the products are on the recall list, they are safe to eat! Most items were being recalled as a precaution.

PLEASE NOTE:
Bacon, Hot Dogs, Prime CHicken and a large number of other items made by Maple Leaf Foods are not even manufactued at the same plant as those products on the recall list. There are numerous plants.
These products are safe to consume!!

I had Maple Leaf Bacon this am and Maple Leaf Chicken tonight....I am not worried at all about eating these foods. :)

I ate and trusted Maple Leaf foods long before DH and will continue to do so. It's been around for 100 years .Unfortunately, these kind of incidents can happen anywhere.

Hope this helps to ease come concerns.
L.
