Hi, any suggestions on how to mend crystal? Special adhesives or techniques? Appreciate your help...

P.S. While I have your attention does anyone have a favorite silver polish, product or technique? Thanks again!

remembver those commercials in the late 80's, for those siver/brass cleaners that was simply a metal plate that you put in hot water in the sink? then the product sales died, because it became a grade 9 science experiment

Use extreme caution. This technique will often damage antique silver.

I'm looking forward to trying this technique...although I do believe you, it sounds too good to be true! Can it really be so easy?!!:-)

here's a very easy technique. take a dish or pan and line it with aluminum foil. add baking soda to it (enough to cover the bottom). place your silver in it. now add boiling water. the reaction of the foil, baking soda and hot water will remove the tarnish from the silver. and you didn't have to do a thing!

Awile back a glass insert in my coffee table had broken. I went to a glass shop that made custom glass. While I was there I remember I had cracked an antique vase and asked if he could fix it unfortunately he said the piece was cracked through too much of the intricate cuts otherwise he could have repaired it. Not sure of what kind of crystal piece you have but I’m sure someone in your area could do this work. Won’t be cheap.
