Can anybody tell me the best way to remove an ugly oval mirror from my powder room wall that has been siliconed on without doing too much damage to the wall or is there a lot of patching in my future? :(

Fishing line worked like a dream. and prey tell what were the safety clips for if just taped onto the wall. the mirror looked like it had been tarred on. What the heck!

with the dental floos tried that and it didn't work your better off trying the fishing line or we used some fine wire for a pulley system 1/16" thick from home deopt

Now that's a good tip - dental floss or fishing line to get a mirror off the wall. I was wondering how to get them off since you don't really want to shatter the mirror or do tons of damage to the drywall. I'll have to tuck that piece of info away for later.

is another option mentioned here before - very flexible yet strong as hell for its size

I suggest you wrap it around something other than your fingers (small screwdriver handles would work well) as your fingers will turn blue after 2-3 minutes of flossing the mirror...

I hope I can help. A friend used heavy fishing line and someone on the forums used wire to cut through the silicone with no damage to the drywall behind the mirror. :p
