I'm wondering if anyone has had any bad experiences with the various materials used to make shutters and blinds. I am concerned about warping and colour fading/yellowing. I can't seem to find any websites that discuss the various things to consider when buying plantation shutters and blinds. Is there a preference between wood and vinyl slats as far as longevity is concerned? If you have any suggestions, I would love to hear them.

I do have vinyl plantation shutters in my kitchen. They were here when I purchased my home. If I had gone to purchase shutters, I likely would have chosen wood because I do like the look of wood a bit better. Having said that, a good friend of mine has wood shutters in her home and they require painting (usually if they are in high traffic areas such as a patio door). Therefore, I would definately go with vinyl if you are not interested in painting shutters in the future.
Good Luck!
